Aligning Customer Goals
Adidas had a clear vision — they aimed to enhance their functional running shoe midsoles with vibrant and diverse colors without compromising the production efficiency. To be precise, they needed colors to remain consistent, aiming for a production success rate of 98% or higher. Ensuring resin color precision throughout the entire production process was a top priority to the “Adidas” brand.

Solutions Implemented
To propel Adidas' vision forward, we, AMPLIFI Technology, worked hard to find innovative solutions tailored to their goals. Tackling the challenge of color application, we introduced a groundbreaking approach by employing a direct dyeing process for raw materials. To match the color swatch provided by the customer, we employ a variety of primary color pigments, including high-dispersion and weather-resistant pigments, along with fluorescent color series ink, to enhance color diversity.

This strategic shift eliminated the drawbacks associated with traditional surface-spray painting, ensuring a durable and visually striking finish.
As we move forward, these innovative solutions stand ready to revolutionize Adidas's journey towards vibrant and efficient midsoles.

Innovations didn't stop there. We introduced automation into the production process, allowing for the mass production of midsoles with automatic coloration and tinting. This not only significantly reduced color discrepancies but also elevated the overall product quality.

Scientific Cost-saving Measures
We extended our automation capabilities to address printability and cost estimation. Leveraging scientific principles, we rapidly assess printing parameters, ensuring optimal performance. To make our processes more cost-effective, we carefully check the printability of colored resin, emphasizing factors like pigment type (normal and fluorescent) for optimal dispersion, high concentration, and superior weather resistance.
DC Alpha
Acknowledging color's impact on photochemical properties, particularly DC Alpha, we use a specialized exposure process with scientific calculations for swift evaluation of exposure times. This efficient approach significantly cuts development time, offering clients rapid insights into manufacturing costs. These scientific approaches improve print precision and ensures more accurate cost estimates, providing detailed insights into production expenses for our customers.

Achieved Results
12 Colors of Rasin
The collaboration optimizes the product development processes, enabling the production of a broad palette of 12 colors. Two were successfully launched in 2023, with plans for four more in 2024.

In meeting customer expectations, we not only increased the speed of color development but also substantially reduced production costs. Adidas now enjoys a competitive edge in a market where consumer preferences are shifting towards diverse color options. The ability to produce multiple colors simultaneously has positioned Adidas to tackle the challenges of a market demanding both variety and efficiency.
